A Better Bedford Announces Endorsements in Upcoming County Primary
[SHELBYVILLE, Tenn., April 15, 2026] — A Better Bedford, a local political action committee (PAC) committed to the promotion of good governance and local priorities, is proud to announce its support the following candidates in the upcoming Bedford County Republican primary:
District 1 County Commissioner- Jared Featherstone and Mark McBryant
Bedford County Sheriff- Nikia Elliott
McBryant has served the City of Bell Buckle as a municipal employee and managed a private farming operation for almost twenty years. He is committed to listening, learning, and working with his constituents to solve our community’s most complex problems.
Featherstone is a Bedford County native and a law enforcement officer with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. Featherstone is committed to responsible leadership, smart growth, and to making decisions that put people first.
Elliot is a 25-year veteran of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as Chief Deputy where he oversees 120 staff members. A Bedford County native, Elliott is seeking to create safer communities through proven leadership and common-sense solutions.

Early voting begins April 15 and continues through April 30 before the county-wide primary on Tuesday, May 5.
